BioI'm a software developer by trade, currently at home raising my two sons in the Seattle area. I also write fantasy novels. I have one completed fantasy novel, In the Company of Finneas Trapp, and another in progress with the working title Soldier, Sage, and Vagabond. I post on this blog about once a day, on average, usually on the topics of books and writing or about my kids, or whatever else has captured my interest. Lately I've taken up sailing and have been posting about that a lot. I sail a Laser Radial (very poorly).
My kids are elementary school age and are involved, variously, in soccer, gymnastics, swimming, chess, piano lessons, choir and martial arts. (Not all at the same time.) I hope eventually to teach them to sail Optimists. My older son is a great reader and likes Dungeons & Dragons. My younger son is into Legos and Star Wars. I still read to both my kids. Occasionally I blog about YA and children's books.
I'm a prolific reader myself and read over a hundred books per year, fiction and nonfiction, from many genres. Some of my favorite authors are Patrick O'Brian (historical), Ellen Kushner (fantasy), David Rosenfelt (legal thrillers), and Elizabeth Hoyt (historical romance).
I often friend people out of the blue. If I friended you, it's either because you're involved in publishing (as a writer, editor, or agent), or because you write about sailing, or I stumbled on your blog and thought it looked interesting.
Anyone is welcome to friend me. I haven't maxed out my reading list yet and often friend back.
